Muzzamil Abdi​

Founder/Research Director

Muzzamil is a Senior Somali researcher with a diverse skill set spanning stabilization, state building, food security and livelihoods, peace and conflict, as well as security and justice in the Horn of Africa. With a 15-year career primarily in Somalia, his expertise also extends to Kenya, Ethiopia, and Mozambique. He has worked with many organizations, including Saferworld, LPI, Mercy Corps, and INSO. Furthermore, he contributed to ODI’s research activities in Somalia. Muzzamil is also a fellow at Salzburg global seminar in Austria.

Saadia Isack

Communication and Research Specialist

Saadia has a decade of professional experience in the fields of communications, policy development, and advocacy, having worked with a diverse array of organizations, including the United Nations, government agencies, and various non-governmental organizations operating in Somalia. Her extensive career has seen her contribute significantly to initiatives related to peace and governance in the region.

Hafsa Husein

Gender Specialist

Hafsa Hussein is a Gender Specialist with a decade-long career in project management, specializing in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA). She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Daystar University in Nairobi.

Her expertise covers policy and strategy development, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), and extensive collaboration with governments, NGOs, and civil society in Kenya and Somalia. Hafsa’s contributions in multi-partner programming, strategic planning, and cross-regional coordination have greatly impacted human development, governance, and capacity enhancement. She excels in training, facilitation, communication, advocacy, and M&E in the domains of GBV and SEA.
